Thumbs up Cayenne 40k Service

My wife took her 2004 Cayenne V6 in for the 40K service and was told that the spark plugs, pollen fileter and air filter are due at this intervcal. The service advisor then talked her out of the 40K service and into the annual service which was half the price.

I am getting ready to order some stuff from Suncaost and wanted to find out if the spark plugs are due to be changed? Are there any clearance issues i should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

All of the above recommended items should be done at 40. Air filter(s) more frequently if driven in such environments, and pollen filters start to stink after a bit. Spark plugs are also done, which are important on the V6. I'm not surprised the annual was half the price, and probably included less than half of the items done at the 40K service. All items easy to change as well, if you're inquiring about doing them on your own, which it sounded like.

40K is considered a major... expect $1200 in SoCal IF they don't find anything that's not covered (brakes?)

Cayenne V6 and S do not need spark plugs until 60K miles or 4 years. 40K spark plugs is for the Cayenne Turbo only.

You are correct for the S on getting plugs at 60,000 miles. However, plugs at 40,000 miles are for V6 and Turbo. I can photograph it in writing if anyone would like.

Here's a scan of the 40k service

Notice that Cayenne V6 and S change plugs at 60k.

I don't have one to put up tonight but that sheet has been amended to read Turbo/V6 @ 40K. Also note that sheet is for Minor Maint. ie...20K, 60K, 100K, etc. Major maint are 40K, 80K, 120K, etc.

Thanks for all the answers. I will order the plugs along with the filters. She had the annual done, I think it was around $500 vs. almost $1100 for the 40K. I can change the plugs and filters myself.

I know, a little late on the pics but I think the biggest difference is the production dates of the 2 service sheets posted. The above were from 9/2004, the ones below are current as of 5/2006.
