I wish my Cayenne had the same problem. At least the ignition is on the left side so I don't have to get all the way in to start the car to let it warm up.

Having to touch the brake to start the car is stupid in an AT and defeats the purpose of the left hand ignition.

Do you really think that the left hand ignition is so that you can start the car without sitting in the drivers seat?

The left hand ignition was used back in the day Le Mans for quicker starts. Why do they require the brake down when you have to turn the key? I can understand if it was keyless and you have a push button start, but its not. I can understand if it was MT, but its not. Maybe I am not seeing the safety or performance gain from this new feature.

Interesting about the left hand starts. From what I understand, they got the ignition/brake 'safety feature' from Audi.

I dont see it as being a bad thing you dont need to touch the brakes! If anyone else has a Cayenne that wants this feature disabled, take it to a shop and have them bypass it.

the reason the Porsche have a left hand stat because of the race inspired. when the porshces are in a race, they can start the car with there left hand and shift gears with the right, giving a better start time and take off time.

for your porsche that is really strange that u dont need to surpass the brakes to make it start. (the only reason they did that is, if u leave ur kid in the car and go out to grab something ur kid cant start the car because the child cant reach the brake peddle and the ignition at the same time.) ur brake requires very little pressure to turn the car on, so maybe its pressed down just a little bit... try putting ur foot behind the brake peddle and pull it up and then see if u truck will start without pushing on the brake peddle? if no then ur brake peddle just need to be adjusted. thats all
