0-60 times I did tonight!

I used my Passport GT2 Timer, which is according to road and track and some other sources almost 100% accurate. I couldnt run out a whole 1/4 mile because of distance and speed constraints, but I did run a few 0-60 times.

My best of the night was 0-60 in 4.80 seconds.

To achieve this, I brake boosted for approx 3 seconds and let boost build (which is OK according to a Porsche "guy" as long as I dont do it all the time) PSM off, and launch it. It was 77 degrees outside and I got some wheelspin through mid 1st gear, then she was off to 60. THe car took off like a bat out of hell with a 0-30 time in 1.50 seconds! Anywas, not bad for our SUV's! Can't wait to see what she will do with the ECU upgrade!

nope, just bypass pipes to replace the mufflers. I have consistent 4.7-4.9 0-60 times the past few nights with some times stretching into the 5.1's. With a normal launch in M1, I will get 0-60 times in the 5.3-5.5 second range, but with brake boosting, they are easily in the 4's. I cant wait to get my ecu reflash and shoot for a mid 4!

I am guessing that brake boosting is when you hold the brake and the accelerator and let the wheels spin for a few seconds...
also, what size wheels do you have?

Harris,

Are you going down to Boca this weekend? If so, we are leaving Saturday morning around 7am from the avenues. Let me know.

I am going to have to say, with no performance upgrades, there is no way you are pulling sub 5 sec 0-60 runs. I am not doubting the reading the Passport gave you. It's just the Passports and the Gtechs are very generous with 0 to 60 times. Take that thing to a real 1/4 mile track and you will find out.

Porsche quotes the Ceyenne at 0-62 in 5.6 sec. You are claiming a full second faster. A full secon 0-60 is HUGE.

greyghost, what day are you guys coming back? I may be intersted in going with! Thanks for thge invite!

meh, I have 20" Sport Designs for now. The wheels dont spin because of AWD, but the truck just launches hard.

Nomercy, I understand that they are innaccurate, but I also realize that when Porsche does 0-60 times in the cayenne, it is a mash the throttle to 60. They do not brake boost, as they dont want to advertise because then peoplewould be doing it left and right, thus lots of **** braking...When I mash the throttle down, my 0-30 is 2.2-2.3 seconds, When I brake boost, there is absolutely no lag, and the truck launches harder than my dads 996TT X50 did. even to 30, the time is almost a full second faster! I think I can believe my 0-60 in 4.80 seconds, as I have driven many fast cars, sub 5 second, and even sub 4 second cars, and this is definetely in the sub 5 category. NOt to mention that I pull a '03 M3 6 Speed pretty bad to about 80 MPH from a dead stop using my launch technique
