Air Filter Install

Does anybody know where to find a DIY for an air filter replacement on a Generation 1 Cayenne S?

I remember finding one online quite a while ago and now I can't seem to locate it. I've checked rennlist, renntech, google, and 6speed.

Any help would be appreciated.

There was no pipe to unhook on the backside of the airbox. I've attached the pictures below. Why the difference between the two Cayennes? Both are 2004 Cayenne S.

I do recall something about either older (03) or later (04/05) not having that

It is for air suspension equipped cayennes only. That line goes to the air compressor.

I did see that line on my wife’s Cayenne S when installing the BMC's. Yes our Cayenne S is full-full-options only missing Nav.

BTW, after the BMC's there is a huge change in responsiveness, of the line is much faster and with addition of the by-pass pipes it is a totally different car until 5,000 rpms...it is a MUST IMO.

I just need Flash...wich will give me even more low-end

I'm curious to know why BMC is considered the best air filter. Are there any real tests showing BMC to be superior to the Mahle filter? There are no Porsche dynos listed on BMC's website. Here
I did find a very simple test showing Mahle to be superior to other filters, but BMC was not tested. Here If BMC is better, why would porsche decide to use a inferior filter? Cost? Emissions?

I'd like to know if here is any value to add for a CTT? I have not seen any compelling evidence or claims for improving the turbo with air intakes like in some other cars.
