i have two questions as i am going to take delivery of my cayenne s next month. does it come with privacy glass standard or did i have to add this? if not is the standard 20% or 35%?

also, since i selected black i was thinking of getting a clear bra, any recommendations for brands and an installer? how much is it to do the hood and mirrors? btw i amm located in long island.

 

i think all of them in the US come with the rear privacy glass. If im not mistaken its 35%

 

I am not certain, but I think the rear tint on the Cayenne is 20% give or take. I know to specifically match windows all arnd, you have to run a 20% tint up front for visual appeal.

As far as the clear bra, the installer makes all the difference. Ask around and see who is highly reccomended. Even if it costs more, this is something to pay as it will be ont he car for the duration of the vehicle's lifespan most likely. I want to say Detailing Dynamics in Long Island offers it, but I am not positive. Hope this helps.

Clear bra is a protective film you can put on the front bumper, hood, etc. to protect the paint, kind of like one huge transparent sticker.

As fro the tint, I thought was 35% because when I went to put my tints on they measured the back, and I believe that was their reading with the machine.

 

Rear windows are tinted and BUBBLES come with it for FREE!

I haven't visited the dealer, yet... It's not a huge deal for me at this pont but just thought I would point it out to the car buyers.

 

I believe on the 955 rears its only 35%. But it can vary I guess. As for clear bra I believe 3M makes a kit. If you are in the LA area I would goto Tint Factory off of La Cienaga next to the Al n Eds by the 10 freeway. They do clean work and are fast. You can get a tint film to smoke your rear taillights there too. You can get all of it done in a day with an appointment. I will be going back to get 50% tint on my front windshield soon.

 

If getting a clear bra, i have 3m on my 993 and venture shield (http://www.ventureshield.com/) on my ctt. 3m is vastly inferior.

 

Regarding tint...I think if you go with 30-35%, it will still look darker than it really is due to the other windows.
As far as an installer for the clear bra, if you're interested in driving to Northern, NJ, I can get you the info of a reputable shop. My friend told me about a shop about a year ago, I'll ask for the info.

 

I've read and heard many great things about Venture Shield. When I respray the front body panels, I'm leaning towards Venture Shield as a protection film.

 

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but...

How do you wax your car with this film on it? Would you remove the film each time or wax right over it? How does it look if/when it is waxed over.

 

Good question - you'd apply wax to the film just like areas that do not have film.
