PCM modifications: compass and off-road

Does anyone know what is involved with the compass and off-road module for the PCM? Is it software (disc) installed or is it something a dealer has to do??

My PCM had these items BEFORE my dealer replaced the PCM and now those options are gone...

as i know, to activate off-road navigation & compass, you must request special code from manufacturer (through dealer) for your cayenne. It cost about 180 euro for off-road, and 110 euro for compass (in Europe).

This code entering in special menu on diagnostic computer (piwis)

Thanks! My CTT had these options when the car was purchased so the dealer will need to find the codes to get it up and running as it was before they replaced the PCM. Thanks for the inputs!

Old thread - but wondered how it went with adding the compass/ off-road option.

I want to add the compass (I hate seeing the screen on the left empty / plus the dealer advertised it as coming with the compass; though now says, "oh there is a compass on the GPS. Just always have the map showing.")
I've told the dealer that the compass was important to me and that I want it installed, activated, or whatever it takes. He's now telling me it's not even possible - which obviously isn't true.

Is it just an activation thing? Or does it require hardware?

Any thoughts on how to get it working?

Thanks

Damon is looking it up for you and will call you back today. I believe it is in the $200 range with the labor for the tech to go into it with the diagnostic tester.

I just use the compass on the map. You have to look down anyway just look down and to the right.
