Need Help on my 2008 Cayenne S
Fellow members,
I ve recently came back to asia (China) and purchased a Cayenne S 2008 model. I have noticed that it is slower than my 2004 Cayenne S that I have in Canada. Does anyone else notice this problem? or did i get scammed into buying a V6 with a V8 engine cover? if so, how do will i be able to tell?
another problem with this Cayenne is that it burns about 1 litre of synthetic engine oil per every 2000km.. and the dealer tells me that this was normal....this was not normal for my 2004 Cayenne. are you guys with the face life cayenne S experiencing the same thing? please let me know.
Thanks,
Peter

Oil burning is normal, but engine performance should be much better than your 04 Cayenne S. Assuming that Chinese guys are able to replicate anything, there is the chance that you've bought a V6 with a V8 cover

the auto market works a bit different in China. very few people buy from porsche dealer ships, but rather they buy off from individual dealers whom purchase the car inadvance and leave them in your show room. these dealers host many different brands of cars and charge a premium (compared to placing an order for the car, they charge somthing like 2k american per month of waiting. inother words buy a car that would otherwise have you wait for 5 month would cost 10k more) for cars that are already sitting in the inventory. anyways that is why i suspect that they mayhave sold me a lemon or a V6 at the price of V8. and to reply Canberk, is oil buring really that excessive?! 1 litre for every 2000km?.. i find that a big problem please let me know on the details

Sorry that this is a sad post. If the owner doesn't know how to open the hood and see that it is a V8 then how does he even know to sign on and post this question. The fact that the owner knows that it burns synthetic and the DEALER said it was normal and he didn't even ask the DEALER about it is even more SAD.
Just sad rabbit... It is not even a case of did I get ripped off but more of a case that I didn't even use my brain..

Alpine 997,
i m not sure what you mean by whether or not i asked the dealer about the synthetic oil, because i did. i was told it was normal for the car to burn 1litre per 2000km= 1200miles. i posted the tread because i was curious that it burnt more engine oil than my 2004 prefacelift.
2, i was unsure about the engine because i was not there when the car was picked up. here in China, the Chauffer takes car of most of the car maintainence, and in addition to that i got real sketched out when i saw this site: http://www.superreplicas.org/ feel free to check it out its pretty cool.
btw i do know how to open the engine cover.
cheers,
