no exhasuts?

I still haven't been able to get an exhaust

a local Porsche shop said they can baffle out my stock muffler

don't think i want to do that because then i have no stock muffler to put back

any ideas what i can do for a custom job?

Here's mine... Protosport fabricated everything except the mufflers... I had them match the tips to the same ones they made for my 996TT. Fit-n-finish is excellent and it sounds fantastic!

if you want to pay the big bucks and get an aftermarket there is cargraphic, techart, super sprint, tequipment...just do the research and look around they are all priced at $2000 +

or you can go to a reputable muffler shop and have an aftermarket exhaust - (eg. borla, magnaflow, AA) custom fit. my friend just picked up his '05 cayenne with a magnaflow unit and it sounds great - $600 - $800. i'm going to get this done on my '08 next week. they can actually tack on different mufflers and have you hear it before they do the full welding.

i was thinking of just removing the entire muffler and have the muffler shop built a pipe to the tip. has anyone done that before? running with no muffler?

taking the muffler out and using a pipe your car will sound loud and untuned sort of like a drag car

mlc, those aftermarket exhaust companies (borla, magnaflow) don't make an exhaust that would be a direct bolt on application for our vehicles, but what they do make is 'universal' application mufflers. this is why you need to go to a muffler shop to have them custom fit it. find a good reputable shop and have them look at your car. btw, your sig says you already have a fabspeed no?

there are a few reasons why they all charge $2K +...they've done the research and created a direct bolt on system that is dyno proven. on top of that since our hood has the porsche crest on it, there is a markup on product type alone.

yes, here are a couple of examples for you, but it's still best to visit a good muffler shop so they can tell you what will fit after they look under your car.

http://borla.com/products/universal.aspx

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/02muffler.asp

i will get mine done this week and post some sound clips.
