Ya cpo doesnt cover everything, like hoses and such, but I believe CPO's since august 1st 2008 are close to new car warranty as far as length of coverage goes.
Best way to describe CPO is its a "named component warranty" not an extended warranty or "bumper to bumper"

"PCNA launches the new Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned Program
Legendary. A word long associated with Porsche cars; and now it can be used to describe the improved, Porsche certified pre-owned warranty program – Porsche Approved. The Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned Program now offers the best CPO warranty in our market segment; two years or 50,000 miles/80,000 kilometers, mirroring the Porsche new car limited warranty coverage! This product is exclusive to franchised Porsche Dealerships, and it may be applied while the new car limited warranty is still active or if it has expired – of course ‘wear and tear’ items and scheduled maintanence remain excluded.
Effective August 1st, any vehicle that has passed the 111+ point certified pre-owned inspection qualifies for this new limited warranty coverage. "

This is starting to get ridiculous!!!

I contacted PCNA and explained the problem to them. I asked them to send me a copy either by fax or email of where It stated that in order to qualify for the CPO warranty I MUST do it at the dealer. The lady said I should get the info from my dealer. I explained to her that that was exactly the problem, my dealer does not give out adequate info. Once she found out I am in Puerto Rico, she said that PR no longer belongs to PCNA but to Porsche Latin America, so she ad no problem in sending me on my way! It took me 2 days for a LA rep to get back to me, she seemed nice at first, but after explaining the problem, she apparently had no answer for me so she said she would get back to me by phone before midday friday. NOT so! I just received an email at 745 pm with a link to the CPO warranty. Thanks for nothing! It still did not answer my specific questions which I explained via email and phone to the rep. I just emailed back to see if I can get an adequate response, this is total B **** , not only on my dealers part, but on PCNA and Porsche Latin America.

UPDATE:

1. The dealer is charging me 1 hour labor for the CPO inspection. (105.00)
2. I got a 20% discount on parts and labor for the CPO.
3. The CPO states that all service be done at an authorized dealer (im screwed)
4. Where can I get a retail price list for maintenance items to compare with my dealer prices? I think they might be overcharging, but I'd like to be sure.
5. They are requiring (obligating) me to purchase parts at the dealer. (aka, no more cheaper parts at Suncoast)

Does any of this make any sense to anyone???

does number 5 from my previous post make sense to anyone? I know that a dealer must make a profit but....
1. Saying that they won't accept an original Porsche part from another authorized dealer?
so lets say that I refuse to buy an oil filter from them to do an oil filter change. Hence they won't perform the service if I bring my own, so my car would fall out of the CPO warranty which states that I must do the service at the dealer????

It makes me mad because my dealer charges for parts twice as much as anywhere else Ive seen.
