thanks guys for your comments!

CayenneS- The rear muffler delete was a great mod that I did. Judging by your login name, I take it that you have a Cayenne S, in which I would not suggest doing this. Because of the turbos on the truck, the sound is muffled and does not project out of the exhaust as loud as a Normally aspirated truck would. My truck is now much louder than stock, but not too obnoxiously loud. When the windows are down, it is pretty bad, but when they are up, you can not really hear it due to the excellent insulation of the truck. From the outside, if in a car in the next lane, when I drop to say, 2nd gear at a rolling 45mph, it would almost be painful for the car next to you. I know this because I have driven next to my truck and others have told me. Now, with a Cayenne S, this mod would probably be a noticeable 15-30% louder, which would most definetely be too much. In fact we removed the rear muffler off of my old S just for kicks once and it was too loud.

A route that you could go would be a custom exhaust which is almost as simple as losing the rear muffler. Just have your muffler shop incorporate some small mufflers up in the bumper. That way not only would you lose some weight in the back, but your truck would have a nice grumble.

I paid $300.00 for the procedure, and I am sure you could get it done with a few magnaflow mufflers or something for under $500.00

Nice to hear from you Gert and thanks for posting the picture.

Nothing better than suggestive persuasion from a good supplier.

If I decide to take the custom exhaust set up with a local exhaust shop route.. does that void a warranty of any type? Anything I should know about doing it?

TIA
