i just checked my coils---they are cracked---but

i just checked my coils---they are cracked---but

the dealer says that there are no faults and no cel so he refused to inspect them......

i took them out and they end in part nos 002-----and they have hairline cracks---all f******** eight of them-----

the vehicle is going in for some engine noise issues on monday as warranty is ending in 400kms----how do i get them to now replace these coils

or

am i out of luck

will they void my warranty because i took the coils out and inspected them

no, there is no way they can void your warranty. Also, tell them that you're going to court if they refuse to replace the coils... It'll work like magic

thanks for reply---i think court action might help them decide to change the coils---i will be pushing for plugs aswell now

If you can take your coils out, then pull of the covers and just pull a couple of the coil wires off and start the motor. That should cause it to show a few codes. They are up to 005 on the coils now, sooner or later those coils you have will fail.

That's a known fault.. so fight for it. let us know or we will post that dealer on all the Porsche forums..LOL

ok so dealer accepted coils needed replacement but i had also gone in for an engine knocking noise----after replacing the coils the dealer now informs me that they are going to have to replace the entire engine----under warranty thank god-------i am pushing for a sealed unit rather than trying to rebuild---will keep you updated and once gain --------------THANK YOU---------------how is ride of suv on 22

WOW.. new engine? good it's all under warranty.. let us know the progress

There is a possibility of your new engine saving you some more money down the road. Reman engines now come with the updated aluminum cooling pipes, so unless you've had this repair done once already, you lucked out there as well. Might have them at least inspect it to verify that the reman engine (if reman is the case) does come with the metal pipes, if not, easy time to put them in, and I've seen this conversion covered (paid for) once before on a new engine that did not have them yet. Something to consider.....

thanks dude---i hope they can get the thing running right and hopefully give some warranty on the new engine---

i am wondering if they will even have 2005 engines in stock

Ww that's great they are replacing the engine for you... i guess the noise was louder than I had thought.

Did you go to Pfaff or DT Porsche?

how did you check the coils ?? can you check yourself or I have to bring the car to dealer to get it checked ??
