Hi guys,

Any idea what's the Thermally Insulated Glass option? What does it do?

Good, not good, no difference?

I have it in my CTT. They are heat insulated so in the winter they keep the heat in, and in the summer, they keep the heat out. I actually think they are great. But the windshield does make it hard to have an EZpass or radar detector. The heat insulated glass has also blocks radiowaves. There's an opening at the top of the windshield that allows the EZpass to work.

I just searched on google and it's as you say: wram in winter, cold in summer and since I dont use the EZpass or a radat detector, I think it's a great feature to have.

Thanks!

I have it and it is nice - plus keeps the interior very quite.

Yes, apparently, insulated glass reduce wind and overall noise from the outside. Very nice.

you actually get two layers of glass - all of the above comments and it adds a neat glare/tone to the outside look of the glass. it gives it a hue of colour not unlike the coating on the instrument gauges.

I see you had a 08 Turbo. How was it? Were you happy with it? Any pros and cons? Why did you sell it? If I may ask.

Just to dig an old thread up. I have it on my 08 cayenne and even if I put the radar detector in the top of the windshield where the special opening is it does not work very well. Any comments?

I have it on my 14 CTTS. Personally I love it. I have a stealth mounted radar the windshield doesn't impact it. On the negative side, you don't get to hear the exhaust note of the car!

I have the Beltronics STiR with quad hp Laser Interceptors. I chose the Beltronics over the Valentine for the red light camera functionality.

While both are excellent cars, I'd take my CTTS any day over a GTS!
