Thanks for the Help!, spoke with Nav-tv they said i need the pcm 3 media kit and the pcm 3 av kit as well as a seperate dvd player. I've read that nav-tv kits did not work well with older pcm systems, any news on how the nav-tv pcm 3 media kit works with the new system?

Sorry, i cannot comment on their reliability as i cannot see myself paying 1600 for a media kit, then extra for av kit and then DVD player in the current market. I made a cable from two old ethernet cables and two $.5/piece connectors and now have IPOD connection for PCM3 with the same functionality as OEM connector for $430.

i managed to get my dealer to request a code without ordering any parts. (Nav-tv is only known to me alternative to getting a code but at a price that is more than OEM retrofit kit it is a bit of nonsense). code has to be put in by dealer using PIWIS. cable itself is simple: PCM 3 side is 12-pin 2.54mm IDC connector. other end is IPOD connector. It is a total pain to solder IPOD connector to get around it you can buy Porsche ipod cable 997.612.471.01 ($40 or something) and connect homemade cable (need 10 wires - two old ethernet cables would give you 16 wires) to it. you will also need three resistors. in any case if you want to go this route , let me know i ll give you connection diagram . otherwise there is OEM retrofit kit (SUnset parts). installtion is DIY, only need 10 min at dealer to put the code in.

I have a 09 GTS as well with the iPod kit...my only *****? It's a non-charging interface, meaning your iPod battery will drain over time. I have iPod docks on all my audio/video gear at home, and all are charging docks, no idea why Porsche did that.

Porsche iPod/iPhone Kit with Video

Another brand that's very good is DICE electronics. They are similar to the Dension setup. They just came out with an updated unit called the mObridge. I found mine at www.outlookproducts.com. I don't have the Nav screen, but I believe they said they have two modules for Porsche and one of them has video-out capabilities for the Nav Screen. The customer service was very good too.
