New Pads - Looking for recommendation
New Pads - Looking for recommendation
Folks - going to have my calipers powder / painted & rotors replaced (Zimmerman cross drilled) and wanted to replace the pads at the same time. I looked at the past posts but did not find any specifics on what is a better replacement from stock.
Specifically - Slightly grabbier with the same or less brake dust. My current pads are OEM and I never really liked them. Any suggestions or links would be helpful.
It's my daily driver so no race pad suggestions please
Vehicle: 2005 Cayenne S

If I powder coat a service is about $100 a caliper. If I powercoat myself its around $150 for all for.
I used G2 epoxy before on another vehicle and it looks great. As I have 2 G2 kits laying around I will prob just use that. Concerning the pads, I heard hawk is also good but they make 4-5 dif types so I am looking for recommendations.

stoptech seems to do a pretty good review of a bunch of pads on this link. http://www.stoptech.com/products/hig...nce_pads.shtml

Hawk pads, its been discussed several times.
I went with Hawk Ceramic Dustless, others go with hawk HBS. As fas as dustless, they are DUSTLESS....way way better then stock, virtually no dust, good grab as well.
I believe tire rack has them

I just ordered the Hawk ceramics from Tire Rack / New retention clips, Sensors, etc. from suncoast Porsche. I am waiting on a few reply from vendors for cross-drilled rotors. If I have everything by Friday, I will have new pics and feedback by Monday.
If these throw even 1/4 less dust then OEM I will be very happy (my mental image is that I am trailing 4 clouds of dust when I drive as that's what my rims look like after a short drive).
