High water

We had some pretty hefty rain here causing flooding in the Houston area Saturday and I had the family loaded up coming back from an event my daughter was in. I got to use the highest ride height setting to drive through some water that had a couple of vehicles stalled out and the pepper did great. I'm sure the rednecks in the "bubba trucks" didn't know what to think seeing us cruise on through with them. Quite cool. This is one of the functions that I knew would come in handy around here from time to time. The water was about knee high judging from the stalled cars we drove around.

the key when driving through high water is to never slow down or stop, as it creates a wave effect that will take over the control of the car from the driver..

Unfortunately I didn't go to the MSR thing. My niece's son was being baptised in the middle of the day.

Ive never done any "swimming" in the cayenne, but when i had my G500 we dunked it a buch of times. In the mercedes if you go in to deep the doors leak and your feet get wet lol..

Now talk about strange feeling my friend has a H1 with a snorkel, we have crossed creeks, ponds and just deep mud holes on the some the trail.. its fun going deep but one the " boww wave" (i think is what they called it) comes across the hood and starts up the windshild its unsettling.. or at least to me it is.

It's nice to know that the porker can handle going through water like that - even it if is a flooded urban environment and not a trail.

Great!

I got to use the height ride leveling in the snow in Montreal once. To refer, it snows A LOT and often!! Went to visit a friend for dinner. Had to park on the street but no place! Only place available was on a bank of snow. I landed right on it nicely. Time to go back home: get in the car, start, put on reverse, car won't move much, push gas, tires grip well but still car wont move (I landed on a pile of compressed snow by the trucks that clean the streets). Put to the highest level, pus gas and I am out! It really comes handy here in the north, let me tell you.
