Awesome! I have a base '06 with CDR and I wanted to add an Alpine amp. Is that a 4 or 5 channel? Is a 5 channel needed to keep the CDR, add new speakers, and a JL Clean Sweep? I don't want to get ripped at installation. Thanks for your advice.

Here's a similar solution for bass.. note the sub was built for my previous vehichle and it is not goint to stay there. It's going to be side mounted in the side cargo area (the area will have to be built out some and re-carpeted - not a big deal - to fit the subs depth and box sq/ft)

I think the 10w7, w/ proper enclosure and power, is one wicked sub.

If I wanted a pure "boom" system - I'd have went a different direction. Probably 2 12's or a 13".. but the 10" is really the best of all worlds for my set-up. It can shake the ride and make you hair vibrate (tickle your head) if you want to push it, but at low volumes it hits when it is supposed to and with precision and stops with precision.
I will say that I am happy i got a new amp for it when I switched cars. I was feeding it 500w (optimal zone) but have upped it to 750 (its max) with the JL 750/1 HD. It's an awesome combination!!

I wouldn't see a need for a 12 or 13 unless you're looking at making things outside your car shake.. but lets face it, bass is addictive and the 10 puts out plenty of bass.

Matt, that is the same amp I am running but not the same box or speakers... although that kit looks decent and the price is right. I say go for it!

i decided i might try the JL stealth box but found out i don't have space because i have the 4 zone AC option.
i am taking my car into audio shop for mobridge install and they are going to figure out what i can do for subs.

Update on the 10w7 being side mounted as described earlier in this post.
The bass from this is tremendous; a nice improvement over the box -- plus freed up a lot of room.

As you can see it fits fine under the factory spare!

Image Dynamics 10" sub in custom box, easy to take out when needed!

Heck, here are some pics of my XM Radio install using a Dension Gateway 500 interface just for good measure!

I have the I-pod cable run up into the non-smokers tray in the front dash as well so its easy to swap out I-pods and use them for control. Rest of the factory system is stock for now.

Hey guys if I have the base CDR-23, and no bose, is there even an amp under there to do the conversion?
