Pollen Filter Change Procedure - 2004-2007

I've searched but cannot seem to find anything on the process for changing the cabin air filter on Cayenne's. Does anyone have the link or can they explain the process?

Thanks!

Try pelican. I bought one from them a few weeks back. It takes about 10 to change. I saw a DIY, but can't recall where.

In any case, it is two t-hex (I think that is what they are called) remove those and then filter slides down. Make sure when u remove u replace same way, because there is an air flow arrow on filter. You will see an arrow on side of filter.

The directions that came in filter box were not correct so look for DIY. I think it was on pelican or reenlist websites.

Look under the passenger side dash and remove the black shroud with a phillips screwdriver:

Then take a 5.5mm wratchet and remove two hex head bolts from the filter access:

Remove the cover and then pull out the old filter:

Here is the access cover and my old filter:

Old VS New:

Slip the new one in there with the arrows on the filter pointing toward the center dash. The rest is reverse procedure of removal. ENJOY!!!

Actually - perhaps things have changed. The screw under the dash on my '06 is a Torx-10 (AKA T10).. and the only place I could find a 5.5mm socket was AutoZone (although it's claimed to be available at Sears also..) It was about $4 at AutoZone.

Oh - also - the part of the housing that dips down just to the right of the filter drawer is the drain for the HVAC condensate. Since you can easily see all the crap that builds up on the filter, it's worth wiggling your hand into the opening whilst the filter is out and remove any debris you find.

I did not use the 5.5mm socket, try the standard ones. there was one that fit fine just not as snug as the 5.5mm one. but it works

Great help. Thanks

Just changed the filter on my new-to-me 2003 955 CTT.
It is a torx screw on mine, not Phillips. I had a 5.5mm socket in my standard set from Sears. Always wondered what that one was in there for!

One additional note is to detach the plug in for the under dash light to release the whole panel down. Self evident to most, might be helpful tip to some.

Total "project" time was 10 minutes.

Now my air is fresh and clean. Thanks again!
