Deeper sound in my Cayenne S. How?

Ok, first of all i appologize for poor english.
And also for poor knowledge about cars, engines and Porsches...

We are very happy with the 05 Cayenne S. But one first thing i would like to modify - I would like a deeper, more powerful exhaustsound. Not neccecery a sound leaning towards "racecar sound", just a deeper, stronger exhaustsound. Perhaps closer to the TT sound. (how do one describe a specific sound in english?)
But still keep the sound as quite as possible on the inside.

At this moment i don´t wish to spend a fortune on this. What is the best to do? bypass pipes or simply change the muffler at the end?
And again, we still wish to have as low sound as possible inside.

How much were the bypass pipes on that groupbuy from Fabspeed?

thanks a lot
Peter

I ordered the fabspeed bypass but have not yet installed. Going to do that later this week or early next week and I'll post some videos of both stock and with the bypass pipe installed.

if you call Fabspeed and ask for Jeremy he might still do the Groupbuy price for you which was a good deal.

A lot of ppl are very happy with this modification. Here is a video of the Fabspeed project truck, it is a 2006 Cayenne Turbo S.

I searched the web and youtube, but no result.
Does anyone have videoclip/soundclip of a Cayenns S (not TT or GTS) with the only mod the bypass pipes from Fabspeed?
So i can hear what the sound will be.

thanks
Peter

Dude - Check my post here - Links to videos with sound for intake and exhaust mods.
The videos show the sound for bypass pipes and EVO intakes. I will also be posting new
vids with the same mods + fabspeed mufflers (I just added them 3 weeks ago).

BTW - I recommend Intakes and Bypass. I loved this setup. When I added the fabspeed mufflers - lets just say now it has "race car sound"

As i understand the fabspeed bypass will make the sound kind of raspy
and that is not really what i´m looking for.
Someone told me that i more likely will get the deep, growling sound if i instead change the muffler.

What do you say. Is that the way to go?

I did
- Bypass first (made it louder, faster and raspier)
- Intakes second ( WOW - like a bear under the hood)
- Fabspeed mufflers last ( race-car loud, with some rasp)

I say - do the intakes first if its deep throaty growl you want.
Then - ad a sprint booster as you will hear the intakes more often.
Without sprint booster the only time you hear the intakes is when you nail it.
Sprint booster seems to get my intakes sound alive earlier. Maybe no science here , but I am very sensitive to these changes.

I have a 2005 cayenne S. That is exactly what I did and I am VERY VERY VERYYY satisfied with the sound. The last thing I wanted was for the truck to sound like a Honda civic.. turns out the truck sounds very very clean with no inside cabin noise. All together it cost me I want to say... $400 dollars US?? For the mufflers and install. I bought the mufflers online.. Here is a link to the post I started. Hope it helps!!

We just installed the Cargraphic Sport Exhaust w/ Flappers on our project GTS here at RSS & STUTTGART PERFORMANCE.
During this customer visit, we also ceramic coated the exhaust tips black and put a black GTS emblem on the rear center hatch.

Check out the sound clip
Thanks

IMHO if you don't want to have your car sound "raspy" by modifying the mufflers I would look into putting headers on your S. THis should open up the sound without the race car insaneness.

But just like installing aftermarket mufflers you will begin to get some new sounds "rattling noises" overtime.

I would suggest leaving it the way Porsche designed, unless you don't mind headaches later on.

BTW - if there is 1 thing you will notice with most aftermarket Cayenne exhaust is that they almost ALL have some rasp. BUT what you almost never see is the sound when driving. Most show the car revving. I find that underload it always sounds better. I am rigging a special mount for my camera and soon i will run my truck on the highway. This will either give you a better sense of the sound or result in a lost camera (1 of the 2).
Also, the rev limiter impacts the parked sound. I HATE the that the cayenne wont rev above 4k when in park. You never get a true rev sound and you look like a dork when at 4 k it goes " Rooommmmm POP hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm".

(hopefull new vids this weekend).
