Talking My new (to me) 2003 Cayenne Turbo, you read right!

After being undecided about the BMW 545i and this truck, well, I am so happy I got it (for now, lets wait for some potential gremlins to come out ). Its a 2003 with 35K miles on it and full warranty until late Feb. 2010. The coil packs were changed in December and the coolant pipes replaced in February of this year. In May, it got a major service done. One owner (man still has 3 Porsches left in his garage among other toys) and always serviced at the dealer (which is about 1 mile away from my house in case it needs anything ). This is actually the wife's car and I sold my 996 C2 to get this, but since I work out of my house and she does not work, well, I get to use it whenever I want
Love everything on it but: 18" rims, but slowly warming up to them and truth be told, with the crappy roads (at best) that we have down here, these are very "comfy". Too bad my next door neighbor has a 2006 V6 model with the same rims . I also not liking too much the interior color as it shows every single blemish you can think of. The exterior is perfect except for a ding in the tailgate, but the interior does need a bit of TLC, especially the driver's door grab handle and the gray plastic near the keyhole.
I did research about these for a while and familiar with most common TSBs on them and issues (headlamp vents, cardan, rear tailgate, etc.), but so far, so good, and that warranty makes me sleep comfortably at night. In 4 days of ownership already the passenger side Xenon bulb went out

get ready for some dense problems if you dont baby it.
as far as interior, go with a carbon fiber trim to replace the crappy grey plastic unless your wife likes it like that.
for exterior, get new pillars and trim, and repaint them to match ure truck and i bet itll look great.

beautiful colour, you cant get that in the UK
and very low milage, she should last you a long time.
you have a classy car there, please dont ruin her with carbon fibre...its not a sports car.
change the rims yes (for 20" porsche ones)
subtle upgrades are cool, dont "ricer" your porkie (im sure you wont)

wise choice sir, well done. i love it.

I actually plan to beat the crap out of it in the next months to see if something will in fact break or not since warranty will cover everything. Not that I am going to purposely break it, but truth be told, the maintenance records only show the coolant pipes and coils replaced (with updated parts) as far as known problems. Truck rides/feels/smells/looks like new. 20"s would be nice, but will first see if someone can lend me some for a day or two and see how the ride is affected. Love the way it currently rides. Off on a weekend trip with the family to the beach. Lets see how it behaves.

my advise would be dont.
treat her with respect (like you would a woman)
and she will repay you likewise
you could abuse her (hoping something will be a warranty issue) but all you will be doing is weakening it for when its out of warranty, as not everything "breaks" most things "wear"
but its your car.

i would treat her like a lady and whats to be will be.

By beating the crap out of it I don't mean that I am going to see how fast it can go through rough terrain or try and do doughnuts. I mean that I will use it as much as I can (as opposed to my 911 which was basically a weekend car). Worst thing you can do to any vehicle is park it and not use it.
For example, I just came back from grocery shopping and noticed that when I put it in D after R (yes, I did a full stop) I noticed a "clunk". Cardan? I don't know, but it did the same thing when I left the licor store (no, I am not drinking at 10am, just getting ready for tonight ). I also noticed that the AC unit seems to be having some sort of issue behind the PCM or thereabouts as I can hear motors moving and clunking for about a minute after startup If I don't use it often (my definition of beating the crap out of it), I will never notice these things. When we come back from the beach trip, its going to the dealer to have those things, and some other small ones looked after

Nice Ride

I've got the S - certainly wish for more power once in a while.

Mine came with the same wheels - this past spring I bought a set of 19's w/275 Mich Latitude Sport Tires: Quite a difference in ride quality (I do like a bit crisper handling - our other cars are a Boxster S and an Audi S6). I'm going to set up the 18's with true snow tires & run them during the winter.

Just passed the 63k mark - very happy with this truck. I think you're going to enjoy yours.

The more we use it, the more amazing the truck seems to be. Very comfortable in these crappy roads. Use comfort setting with the suspension set at one step below normal height. It eats miles like nothing else I have been on.

Glad you made the right decision. Your new pepper looks great, love the color, yeah the wheels arent the coolest, but if the roads are really as bad as you say, I would just leave them on. I wish you many happy and safe miles.

Nice ride, Some 20" GTS Wheels in Silver would look good if your trying to keep it OEMplus. If its stock I would suggest an ECU Upgrade, Sprint Booster, and some secondary bi-pass pipes to wake it up a little bit.
