Cayenne vs SRT race on RT 95, S. Carolina

I finally had a chance to race an SRT driving back from FL to VA, tired of hearing all the web garbage that the SRT is faster than the Cayenne. In short; Started at 80Mph left him in the dust and before I knew it I was hitting 170Mph. The guy was a good sport, afterwards (back to 80Mph) he pulled beside me and gave me a thumbs up! My Cayenne was extremely tuned by Autothority Pitstop in Chantilly, VA. Unfortunately the owner of Autothority, who is my best friend past away shortly after I returned from FL. We were building the Cayenne to break the world's fastest SUV record of 191Mph. I'm pushing close to 750 HP currently.

OK, so the cards were stacked in my favor in this race... But at least there is a record out there that shows the other side of the coin!

Great Kill!!

Those SRT guys, for the most part, are just a bit jealous of all the goodies the Cayenne has compared to the Grand Cherokee....however as the owner of a modded 5.7L SRT grand cherokee, i will vouch for the fact that they will beat any non turbo cayenne....no problem!!

I actually had a fun SRT8 kill on the NJ Turnpike.... we raced from about 60-140ish...... a few times, he never had a chance over 80mph......the real race was between me and my buddy in his modded E39 M5, who i was neck and neck with the whole time.....

Also, what are your mods......dyno sheet?

I wish I had the guts to hit 140 in my non-lowered s. 130 while screwing with a viper (LOL) from exit 12 - 13 on NJTP and at that point it felt a bit floaty. You lucky turboheads get to hunker down at speed.

Thanks for sharing! But FYI, you may want to consider blacking out your license plate. There have examples of cases where people have gotten into some trouble with the law after posting on forums or youtube.

Sorry, haven't been on line in a while... Thanks for all the feedback. I updated the PIC, thanks for the heads-up. Good thing there isn't any proof to support someone bragging! That was one big FISH!

From a dead stop to about 50 mph the other day I got my *** handed to me by a SRT. I have no idea what mods he had aside from exhaust but it sure didn't help to have 4 guys in my car to his lone driver and no boost off the line. Oh well, I still love my cayenne. I'll admit it made me miss my old Suby Forester (it ran 11s).

You cannot get a ticket for saying you went 170 mph on an internet forum. There is no government agency in the country that would want to take forum heresay to court. That I can promise you.

Looks like a hell of a truck. What turbos are you running?

Cayenne Turbo update

I didn't do anything radical, I replaced the '08 Turbo with the '09 Cayenne Turbo which gave an additional 50 HP without mods. I used the stock '09 Turbo this go round due to limited space. Over the summer I hope to go with something bigger (without blowing the motor ), I might have to relocate them.

I ran another SRT last Monday in Chantilly, VA. I was just leaving a stop light behind a car in front of me and a SRT came out of nowhere and dart around to the right, 2 lanes over and punched it. I guess I just don't have enough self control so I took off after him. Took no time to catch-up and pass him, waving as I passed with a smile , this was a quick jump to around 110. He wasn't as friendly, he wouldn't even look at me when I slowed down .
