Looking at 2004 Cayenne TT

I am looking at purchasing a 2004 Cayenne tt. Car seems like it's in great shape and the carfax is clean. Car is a one owner local car here in oregon and the selling dealer is someone I know personally. Vehicle has 95,170 miles and drives better than any others I have driven with lower miles. Vin is WP1AC29P84LA90752 if anybody wants to look it up and give additional feedback. What are the things I should be looking for and looking out for?

Hi, I have just recently buy a 2004 TT with 52,000 miles for $40k. I have changed a BMW 335 for this. This have been my dream SUV for a long time but the price here for a new one is over $135k. I canot begin a tread yet so I will ask does anybody know anything about this tuning company http://www.tuning-chip.at/indexenglish.htm. They have a chip for the Cayenne TT that produce 500 hp and 720 NM (I do not know how much is that in Torque #). I send them an email asking information about their company and this is what I receive.

Hi,

the cayenne performance chip must be soldered into the Bosch ECU instead the stock chip. The chip comes with installing instructions in english. It´snot possible to upload the tuning data by the OBD II Port at you cayenne. We´re selling much chips for cayenne´s to US each year and it give never problems with the lower octane rating. And I think there is no difference to other chips, but we dont know Upsolute Giac a.s.o. INMOTION Tuning is the biggest cayenne tuner worldwide and more than 400 cayenne´s drive with our chips...

From what I've gathered, you will want to find out if the coolant pipes under the manifold have been replaced (early models had plastic ones, newer are metal) and if the drive shaft (center bushing problems) has been replaced. Other somewhat common issue is torque converter seal.

I have the car at a local porsche shop as we speak having it gone through from top to bottom and the compression tested. I will definately ask about th coolant pipes. What does it run to have those replaced?

So the car checked out GREAT. just a few minor things that the dealer is taking care of but looks like a solid purchase. The dealer doesnt have a NAV disc for it. When I called the porsche dealer here in town they said there is an update for it. What exactly does the update do?

It will have more recent map data. I would contact Ric at suncoastparts.com, I'm sure he can save you some $$.

Which shop did you use for the inspection if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Portland as well and Cayenne shopping.
