Turbo vs Turbo S

What is the difference between the Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S ?

What do you think an 06 Turbo S with 60k miles is worth vs the same car thats just a TT.

Thanks

The 1st generation Cayenne Turbo had 450 horsepower (340 kW), and accelerated from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 5.3 seconds.

A Turbo S version was built in 2006 to compete with the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG. The Cayenne Turbo S included a low-range case, a locking differential, and the height-adjustable, off-road suspension also standard on the regular Turbo model. It was powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 that produced 500 bhp (370 kW) and 700 NM of torque. Acceleration from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) was 5.0 seconds and the top speed was 171 miles per hour. It featured a 6-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission.

A new Turbo was revealed at the 2008 Beijing auto show. It received 50 hp (37 kW) more power, and now accelerated from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.9 seconds.

Also revealed with the new Turbo was a new 550 horsepower (410 kW) Turbo S. Acceleration from 0-60 mph is 4.7 seconds and has optional ceramic composite brakes.

I think the 2006 Cayenne Turbo S had a 4.5 liter engine, not a 4.8. Also had different tunning and a bigger intercooler than the normal turbo. The new Gen 2 turbo has a 4.8.

I did

Well, I did it.

Picked up an 06 Turbo S with 50k miles for 47k. Hope I got a good deal.

Car now needs snow tires and will need some new street tires in the spring.

Was surprised by two things when driving. First lots of perceived turbo lag and two when the boost comes on its pretty impressive.

Congrats! Not a Cayenne you see a lot of. At what RPMs do you start to really feel the boost?

Congrat's! I was really set on a '06 Turbo S. Great car, bigger brakes and intercoolers than the regular, and 70 more HP.

Not so sure it really needed 70 extra horsepower. Its a bit absurd.

I had the privilege of driving a new turbo s at a Porsche event last week and i also noticed a fair amount of lag until around 3500rpm and then hang on for dear life. The turbo s is just an amazing machine.

Thats it exactly. Is a sleeper until about 3250-3500RPM's and then it is like being on a Saturn Rocket.
