Same issue for me. It just quit working. so I started using the emergency release. Well, the 3rd time I used it, it just pulled right out and peices went everywhere. So, now my fuel door hands open a tad. I bought the new switched from suncoast as all the fuses and relays looked fine. Unfortunatly I cannot test as the fuel door relay is laying somewhere down in the quarterpanel. Oh, and when it broke, I slammed my hand against a weld and just about needed stitches. Don't mess with it - have the stealer fix it before you break the Emergency release like I did (PS - with the rear cd player, you have to pull the entire rear wheel well interior trim pieces off - like 4 hours labor).

That is SAD!. I think the rear control module went bad,. have you also checked if your alarm siren will sound? because I found out it dosen't work too.

Btw., you only need to remove the cd changer to get to the fuel door actulator , I read it from the cayenne workshop manual

Alarm works thank god.

On the CDchanger: you can remove all 4 bolts, but you cannot get the units right side mounting bracket past the interior wheel-well trim. I tried for 1 hour, it's like removing a square peg from under a round hole. I did some digging and in order to get it out you have to remove the interior quarter panel. Now to remove that, you have to take out the pieces that run up the back post and across the back headliner. Then you have to pull a part of the seat, and so on, and so on. Spoke to 2 people who did it and both said it was a Biatch and 1 had rattles afterwards.

So - I will just leave the door hanging open 3 mm for now.

update,.! I took the control switch out from the door and did a multi meter test. Found the wire has no foul..

grounded the two wires between the switch wire and ground. pop!., the door opened.., and pop the tailgate opens.

took the switches up home and did a continuity test.,!!! BOTH tailgate and fuel door switch do not CONNECT when the switch is engaged!! WEIRD.,! how can both switches fail at the same time (may be rust from rain water?)

ORDERED two new switchs from sunset motor.!! will report!
