How to remove shift knob?
I'm also pondering this.
To add to this question my park release lever/botton is damaged and kind of sticking out. Anyone have any good suggestions on getting it back in or repairing in somehow?

As per the manual:
Selector to the D (drive) position. Do NOT push in the release lever and pull straight up on the **** and it should slide off......
I have not done this myself yet, so please let us know how it goes. I want to take mine off as I have a carbon piece to install around the shifter.....

Do not do this at a bank drive through just to see if it works....because it does...but it's not as quick and easy to get back on!!!
Do know that you can still drive with it and shifting is not a huge issue as long as you can get a good grip on it.

do it in Neutral, let chances of moving with out being able to take it out of gear...
Putting it back on: i had to pull the button on the **** "out", in the opposite direction you would push it in to take it out of park, in order to get it to go all the way back on...
Hope this helps.

Ahhh I'm sure that will help many people out. My spring is broke in there so I had to use a small screw driver to hold it back when putting it back on. (That was the whole reason I was taking it off was to see if I could fix the "play" in the button)
Well.......I'm glad the manual procedure works, but I'll remember not to do at the Bank drive through!! Too funny
