Blow Off Valve

Don't hear much talk about blow off valves on the Cayenne's. Why is that?

Any of you vets have them on your Cayenne's?

If not....why not? If so who did you go with?

Thanks guys!!

blow off valve that makes some noise is kind of stupid on auto cars.

Diverter valves. As far as I've seen most people go with EvoMS.

www.powerhouseracing.com has some in stock for a reasonable price. I was going to order them when I ordered my bypass pipes and intakes. Just waiting until mine are out of warranty and will probably install them. My understanding is that the stockers wear out with age and higher boost levels.

Now there's some useful information thanks man!

Would doing this void an extended warranty?

I'm at 90K and all the mods since 28K, mine are definitely worn out, under high boost you can feel pressure lost, kind of surges like bad coil packs which I just replaced for the second time. Have the new diverters but not time time to swap out

Definitely go with aftermarket billet diverter valves, especially if you plan on modding. This should not have any effect on warranty, they're kinda hard to see anyway. As far as the sound of a blow off valve, just get the EVOMS airboxes, they'll get you pretty darn close, and are fun to listen to.

I don't recall seeing one, they are located under the air intake boxes, I found it easier to remove the wheel well liner. Pretty simple from there. Just reconnect hoses as they are originally connected.

I went with APR (promotional discount online when I bought them). There are several out there.

I went and purchased the APRs (went with aluminum finish, not that it matters), with no other mods, I felt they were stiffer for sure, my opinion, lost HP (we are talking tiny here) in th low range but keep higher boost pressures longer, so won there. Very happy with them personally. Some ecu tuners i spoke to (will not be disclosed) stated they have seen issues with the evoms units. To me they seem like the same factory makes them, just routes ribs on the evoms ones. I never seen the internal on the evoms to really tell, if they are identical. (dont know maybe they are the same but they choose to go with stiffer springs?)

Later on I also installed hi-flow air filters (not interested in removing the stick airbox's, maybe one day I can see/drive one that has a set and make a call on them, but right now I have my reasons why i have no interest in them), installed sharkworks by-pass pipes, and had ECU tuned.

To be conservative, I am estimating 560hp. I will be dynoing her hopefully by next spring, to get it on paper (most likely at AWE Tuning).

Have to share, I blew the doors of a modified mitsubishi evolution on the highway this evening. He asked for it though, I was just cruzing and he pulled up at high speed and punched it making quite a bit of noise (antagonizing a TTS with 22" Techarts ). I caught up and we punch it together at around 75, after a few seconds he was seeing my tail lights in the distance. Triple digits, fast, real fast... he pulled up along side after that and was just checking out the 6k flying pig. I am amused by how MANY cars pull up to see if a Cayenne can actually move. He wont be telling his friends about it
