GIAC ECU for 2009 Cayenne S Review

Hi all,
Just installed GIAC ECU Flash on my car. Thanks to Tyrsol Sport for their professional and friendly service. The install took about 45 mins. I can definitely feel a difference, though not a night and day difference, at least initially. My girlfriend who was in the passenger seat said it feels faster and pull is smoother. I would say the acceleration is about 5-10 percent faster than before, and it is substantially faster than stock with the intake, bypass and exhaust mods. I also noticed an increase in engine sound, could be psychological but at full throttle, the car sounds insane.
I will report back in a few days after some highway driving.
Attached is a picture of the ECU switch, i have the pump and stock modes only.

Day 2 review: Definitely a difference in torque increase. i can actually feel the pull now. Still did not get a chance to drive on the highway, will report back then. So far i'm happy with the purchase.

Glad to see that you finally pulled the trigger! There is a definite adaptation period involved after the flash.

Could you please expand on that with a little bit of technical depth? Why is there an adaptation period and how long is this period? Thanks.

When the DME is reflashed all of the adaptation data for the fuel trims, throttle mapping, etc.... is reset. The car must be driven in order for the these values to be restored. How long the adaptation period is depends obviously on how much the car is driven in a day. For most, with normal driving habits, the adaptation period is 2-3 days. During this period, the car will get faster and smoother almost everytime it is driven.

Just went for a drive, this is the third time after the flash. The car is undoubtedly faster, and pulls harder. I am now a little bit hesitant to go full throttle, as it actually scares me a little with the combination of exhaust noise and how fast the engine rips to the red line. In the past when I floor the gas; I wonder where that 390 horse power is.

Again this was a quick drive in New York City and on the City highway, will give feedback once i test it on a real highway. So far i'm quite impressed.

Spent sometime on the highway finally. Impression: stronger across the power band, smoother power delivery. I feel the suspension setup and brakes no longer can handle the powertrain, and feel insecure at high speed and acceleration. ( i dont have any of the factory suspension options) which means KW v3 for me in the near future. Still not neck snapping fast, but it is significant stronger than stock. Good enough for me.
The downside is I notice a drop in MPG, could be that i'm flooring the car every chance i got
