Those with Xenon Fogs please read....
Are you worried about the heat from using resistors or heat with a 55w kit. I am currently running a 55w kit in my WRX headlights for the high beam and the low beam and havent noticed any real difference in the heat levels when I was running 35w kits. Now resistors on the other hand get really freakin hot. You have to be careful about where they are located because they do get hot enough to melt plastic and skin for that matter. As for a kit that will not run a code, i think the best bet is a 55w kit, which I haven't tried, just because of the reason the code is being brought up in the first place. The system is designed to detect 55w of draw per side and when the system detects anything less, like your 35w hid kit, it sees an error and throws the code. Maybe a canbus type hid kit will work. They are a little more expensive but they claim to work with canbus electrical systems with zero errors. Not too big of a selection here in the US either.
I was worried about the heat out put in a small fog light, I have seen melted housings cracked lenses etc...
Any reson why the code only happens when a turn the fogs off ?
Here's a pic of the kit I was using along with the resistor next to my finger. Never had a problem with any errors. Took it out after I sold my last turbo and will probably re use it on another car or put it in the fs section. Before adding the resistor I didn't have any errors but my fogs would flicker and not ignite some times. Hope this helps a bit.
people with problems, what ballast are you using? I am using ballast as per photo above ( big fat) without any canceling error boxes, and everything works perfectly ( o6 cayenne fog 3000k) . I noticed the credit card size ballasts are the culprits. i had problem with them on my r56 mini ( both head and fog) 06 c230 (fog), the minute i changed them to fat ballasts everything was corrected.
Yea it seams these kit can differ from car to car as well with the code I had the same problem in my Benz... I went trought 3 kits to get the right one.

Hi Mamut79 did you get the 55w h7 or the 35w h7 kit? I see that the only thick ballast is the apexcore Raptor one is that one you that you got?
