Wife needs a SUV. Will a 2008 6cyclinder kill me?

Wife needs a new/used daily driver SUV

budget 30-40k
2008 Acura MDX
2008 RX350
2008 Cayenne 6cyclinder
2008 Cayenne S

Would i hate myself if we purchased the 6cyclinder instead of the S?
I wish we could afford a 2008+ turbo!

Thanks in advance!

Ive currently got a 2008 v6 cayenne, its great , the way it drives , everything about it.

Only downside that will kill you is the petrol, it drinks ... ALOT!

test drove the 2009 MDX and the 2008 Cayenne V6 today.

The MDX had a much a firm feel on the steering wheel. The motor was very nice and quiet and drove like a smooth big car.

The Cayenne styling makes my wife giggle! but the ride was much more rough and the engine was a bit loud/raspy. Dash board is much more raw.

Did you compare the shoes? I think the tires will make a lot of difference to the ride.

The engine sound is to die for, I havent driven the MDX but Cayenne fits me like a glove.

Happy comparing. Cheers!

RX350......the all-time favorite ladies' SUV. My wife loves her CTT though she doesn't really need that much power considering that she was previously driving our 215hp 6-cyl LR3 (similarly as heavy as a Cayenne with much lower power) with no complaints.

With your wife coming from an Accord, I don't think she would complain with any of the above. However, you will drive find yourself driving it occasionally as well, therefore, just go for the Cayenne S.

I also vote for Cayenne S.

Not much of difference in mileage. You need to have a sufficient enough power to haul this chassis around, that's why you don't see much of mileage difference between V6 versus V8 engines.

Not sure how much $$$ difference in the market between base & CS though.

This is a tough call. The higher the model, the more standard options. Consider the trim level as well--especially when a female is involved.
