275/45/19 or 255/50/19 for dedicated winter set-up

From NJ., not too much snow here (some years). Building a dedicated winter wheel/tire set up on OEM 19" wheels. Right now have summer performance 295/35/21s on my GTS. Winter set up will be on for 4 months, occasional trip to Vt., etc.

Which size would you use?

thanks..

I would pick 255/50/19 of the two choices given because narrower is supposed to be better for winter driving, you also have few more choices based on tirerack.com, and it's a few bucks cheaper.

That said, since this will be a dedicated winter set, I will also consider 255/55/18. An even more popular size tire, even more choices and considerably cheaper per tire . According to this thread, it will fit on your GTS if you don't have PCCB. And they look great!
