Wow...a lot of reponses!

The ignition coil design has changed. When I did my plugs, all 8 of my coil packs were cracked. I am not sure if Porsche will reimburse me for this, as the coil plugs were $290 for a set of eight...the newest version should have part number 94860210405.

So if I take the vehicle to the dealer and they only find 4 cracked coils, will they only replace 4 or all 8?

I'm setting for service to replace the spark plugs this week.. would the dealership charge if I tell them to check and/or replace the old coils even if they aren't broken?

got mine too, but it sounds like this only covers when you get the check-engine light on the dash due to ignition coil issue.

I got mine too, but if I remember correctly, this warranty will cover only if you get the check-engine light on the dash due to the ignition coil issue.

Anyways, hope they step up and take care of coolant pipe issue, too!

(I meant to edit above response, but I guess I hit reply instead of Edit button, ending up repeating myself )

Does anyone know which part numbers are faulty (Mine are 948-602-104-03) I'm assuming the ignition coil and pencil coil are one unit (assembly)?

Question: Uder CPO warranty the dealer replaced one coil and only one coil last November. Should I be asking for them to replace all eight? I have no check engine light and while it uses a lot of gas that is the only possible symptom--otherwise she runs like stink and saved my life the other day getting us out fo the way FAST.

Hopefully someone knows the answer to this Is there a certain year or part number that fixes this issue for good?

I'm hoping that this isn't merely an exercise in public relations but that Porsche will actually honor their offer and change out mine. I suspect my poor gas mileage may be contributed in a large part to this problem.

Gee, I pay more than anyone else in the USA for gas. I am happy to get it at $3.52.9, but I only get 90 octane. I am using as much of it as I can before I die.

But, I really take it easy, well, I used to, until I saw that I never got more than xmpg. then I decided to drive it more naturally and still get xmpg.

13.2 mpg highway and maybe 11.9 at best city. In the winter I was getting 8.9 mpg city! Best I ever got was 19.2 mpg but about died of boredom.
