Thumbs up Stock dyno sheets?

Took my 04 CTT to the dyno last Thrusday to get a baseline before I start modding it. I would be curious to see other dyno graphs. The guy I bought my CTT from claims that it has no flash, yet my curves look similar to chipped graphs I have seen.

You can see that with no smoothing on the graph I need coils .

That's impressive numbers considering the stock engine makes 450hp I believe, you would expect more loss thru the drivetrain than the 55hp showing (usually 15-20% loss). What are your mods you have in mind? I'm curious as well, just bought my first Porsche (04CTT) a week ago and already looking into mods... I can't leave anything alone...

Well, I always take the numbers with a grain of salt. Every dyno will read a bit differently and any given day can even be a bit different.

However, this is the closest one to me that is AWD and I ran my Audi S4 on it years ago. Nice to be able to run an occasional dyno before and after mods to see how and where they effect your power.

My plan is intercoolers, tuning, cat bypass, exhaust, upgraded DVs, maybe intake mods and who knows what else.

I should point out that my CTT has the "plenum" thingy on it but nothing else.

Maybe that plenum does help like they say it does, sure wouldn't think it would add that much hp as they quote.

What gear was used for the run?

My stock 06TS was 377HP and 418TQ on a Dynocom dyno. (3rd gear run)

How much hp was an 06TS to begin with (advertised hp rating)?

That Dyno sheet shows an SAE correction factor of 1.24 which is inflating the numbers by approx 24%. Anything above 5% compensating for altitude should not be applied on turbo cars. If you dyno at sea level you will make in the 320Whp range.

Yeah, I have heard all sorts of argument on the topic. I was convinced this dyno was way off for years until we did a big dyno day and the 3 stock cars we had put down EXACTLY what they should from the factory.

All of which does not mean squat. The nominal result is not really the point as much as the delta of the numbers and curve after mods measured on the same dyno.

FWIW the dyno is at about 6,000' elevation.

Indeed, everyone is free to use the dyno figures for whatever purpose. I simply want to clarify the reason you might find those numbers high compared to the same car dynoed at sea level. Altitude dyno correction factors that compensate for atmospheric pressure change are not applicable to turbocharged cars applying 10, 20 and more psi. Was just FYI.

Any idea what the stock boost really is?

Never really trust the stock gauge.
