20" or 22"- experience

My CS would be arriving in a months time, and Im deciding on whether to get 20" or 22" rims.

A) I heard that the 22" rims can become a bit heavy for the car and the ride is very rough.

I have airsuspension and servotronic as options on the car. Would this help?

B) Im planning on getting the Gemballa black rims (BBS style one).

My CS is Basalt Black, blackout trim and black interior.. would the car be too black?

What are your opinions? I really like the 22" but really dont want a crappy ride. My previous sedan was lowered on 18" and the ride was rocky. With a larger wheel such as 22" and thinner tyres I'm afraid this might be the same.

40 more days wait... the CS has been on order since November 04... 6months wait!!

depends on how your going to use the vehicle. my cayenne had 22's, no air and no complaints. the ride was firm but fine. the look was awesome. 20"s look small on the cayenne, 22's look correct. many on the board will say you are ghetto or bling, but the 22's look right IMO.

22's for the summer/streets. 18's for the winter/snow.

that's why i prefer 22". I mean a sedan can accomodate 19" nowadays... why stop at 20" for a 4wd?!

So it's the 22" gemballa black racing im going with. Car is used for city use mostly... can't go too far in Hong Kong .

Later on down the track might add the Cayenne sports kit to enhance the look a bit. We have 100% tax on car accessories here for the first 6 months.

ugh, now 40 days seems so faaaaaaaar away

20's. This is a truck afterall. 22's strip any utility that is left with this vehicle and you can look forward to a bent rim down the road with 22's...

the black looks nice with black rims, very stealthy.
I have basalt blk with black interior but i am getting 22" formula techart wheels. I bought my car based on what it looked like with 22" on.

good luck. where in HK are you? my best friend is going there next week.

Those 21" by BBS is so hot! you can have a very wide tires on them!!

22" HRE is hot and thats why I bought them.

Rockitman is correct though, with 22" you can't do anything

If you are talking about the utility of offroad driving, yes, you really can't do that with 22's on 30 series tires. However, I do not think 20's on 40 series tires will necessarily do a better job.

Otherwise, for hauling things, family and most on road excursions, no difference. If you hit a deep pothole, you will bend a rim whether it is a 22 or a 20.

I can guarantee a 22/30 combo will bend way easier than a 20/40 combo...You will also add more to unsprung weight...

If you run 295 width tires on Cayenne Turbo with wheel arch trim, do the tires stick out? Thanks.
