Just bought 05 CTT. First impressions

Just bought a black/black 05 Turbo this weekend. Was looking around for a few months for a clean black/black 04-06 model. Found this one-owner beauty in CA. Had it shipped up to Seattle last weekend.

My thoughts after a week of ownership...

Good Stuff (other than than the obvious 450hp!!)
  • Heated steering wheel is awesome. Never had that feature before.
  • The seats are very comfortable. Plus, the heat comes up almost instantly. Love that!
  • Handling is surprisingly good for a 5,200 pound beast (Sport mode, Ride height set to low)

Not So Good:
  • BOSE stereo is lame. Can't believe this thing has 300 watts. Sounds like something you'd find in a 1980's toyota.
  • Steering wheel is too thin. Porsche really should have added a bit of padding to give it a sportier feel.
  • No Ipod hookup. $500 for the Dension seems a bit excessive.
  • Rough idle. Previous owner already replaced the coils/plugs. Need to figure out the cause. Wished it was just the coils/plugs.

Mods coming soon:
  • Lowering links -- already bought those before I got the car
  • Tint the front windows
  • Cat bypass -- can't wait to hear growl
  • ECU tune
Anyway, I'm looking forward to contributing to the forum!

Congrads! Welcome to the 6, when you do the bypass also add the cold air intakes, great package together, you can hear one sucking and the other blowing!!! rough idle could be slight vacuum leak?

Regarding the cold air intakes.....are there any alternatives to the $695 EVOM kit? I have a hard time with spending that much money on two filters and some plastic.

Thanks for the tip on the air leak. Another 6speed'er (Cole) pointed that out in a different thread. I'll check that this weekend.

congrats!
do you know how long ago the coils/plugs were replaced? just wanted to mention that coils do go bad pretty often in this car, hope there is aftermarket alternative ones I can use.

welcome to the club. last winter it snowed a couple feet,
i got done playing and while looking in the garage,
i realized i probably will always have one of these.

ps i had a rough idol after having the plastic cooling pipes replaced, turned out
the injector clip wasnt pressed on to completion. while your motor is running
wiggle them around by hand and you might find one not quite right.

Could always just pop in a couple of BMC F1 filters. I installed the EVOMS kit a few weeks ago and, I gotta say, a bit annoying. The induction sound is great when driving in anger but the persistent whistling noise can be irritating on the morning commute. I knew that going in but, now that I live with it, I'm not so sure it was the right decision.

Congrats and welcome to the most rounded vehicle ever built, IMO. I have a similar opinion about the EVOMS kit on noise everyday, I will probably be selling mine soon.
