New owner intro

Finally found a nice 04' S with 50k on it down in LA and had it shipped up to beautiful Cleveland area *sigh*. Of course, two weeks after I got it I noticed coolant on the garage floor! Fully expecting this to happen (and budgeted), I have the infamous pipes being replaced now. They actually said the leak was coming from the water pump though....so just having both replaced. Rear tailgate struts were shot so chalk those up too. Other than that, it's a very clean ride. I did get all the service records previously and at least cardan shaft and brakes were done at 38k. The plastic skirt molding is a bit beat up and I would like to replace that with the type on the "titanium" edition after winter. This replaces my beloved Jeep Grand 5.9 Limited which I had since brand spanking new in 1998. I also have a 350Z I drive in summer, which will hopefully be a 996 next year! Anyway, here's a couple pics:

Silver is THE color of Porsche. What a beauty. Enjoy her in safely in good health. I love the rear of the first gen Cayennes. Since you already have a water-cooled in the form of a Cayenne may I suggest a 993 instead of a 996.

Thanks all. Yeah, silver was actually my first choice....it almost blinds you in the sun.

Not sure on the pipes, they were on when I purchased it. It has also been chipped and has some type of lowering springs according to the previous owner (who was sole owner). It definitely has some punch and I'm still getting used to the tiptronic as I'm used to having a clutch....so it's kind of strange at first. The exhaust is actually a little too 'quiet'. I would like to hear a little more Porsche rumble and hoping the by-pass pipes will help with this. Those are next.

Regarding the 996, I have also test drove the 993 and like it as well. Although I like the 'fatter' body style, I think the 996 has a sleeker more modern look that I prefer. I still have some time to decide on this one though. I've had my Z for five years now and not one problem except the window motor!

Just lurk in the 996 section learn about RMS/IMS and then with due dilligence search for the right vehicle. 996 prices have really plummeted and have done so for a reason. Having said that it is still a very good car especially the TT.

Great looking Cayenne!!! Love the color combo with the wheels and the tips look sweet. Congrats. Are you running 22' tires? If so can you tell me witch Brand they are, size and if you seem to like the ride? Thanks.

Yeah, 22" Nitto Extreme 555. I haven't really gotten on them at all, but they are loud and ride is little rough being on 22's in general. I will probably pull the trigger on a winter wheel/tire set up here very soon.

Ok thanks. I have heard the Nitto 555's are pretty loud. So far the Yokohama Parada's and the Pirelli Scorpion Zero's seem to be on the quieter side and in the right price range. Just wanted to let you know for the future. Cheers.
