Need Help With Amp On 2005 Cayenne

Guys one of my Cayennes particularly the 2005 4s has given me the first headache after 6 years. The factory amplifier has given up and would like your recommendations or suggestions on how I resolve such an issue. Should I go aftermarket, or buy new from dealer.

I believe you still have to have a factory amp in your truck regardless going aftermarket or not. You need the factory amp to run your whole car. Aftermarket amps are just for a stereo. When putting in a aftermarket stereo I believe you still have to tap into the factory amp. Even if you are replacing the headunit. If you use a OEM interface( JL CleanSweep or AudioControls) with an aftermarket system you definitely have to keep you factory amp because thats what I have

Well My intension is to keep the factory stereo. The issue at hand is the fact that the OEM amp is not working. Can I replace it(factory Amp) with and aftermarket to enable the radio to work?

I recently replaced the head unit on my non-BOSE '05 with a JVC head unit. I didn't replace the amp, but based on what was found when the Becker unit was pulled, the amp on non-BOSE systems is not a MOST-compatible amp; so you should be able to replace it with any standard aftermarket amp with no problems.

Sorry, my brother is the expert (he was a professional installer for many years). And, as I said, I only replaced the head unit (with a JVC KD-HDR50).
