Key fob problem URGENT PLEASE HELP

So my key fob stopped working... it won't unlock the doors. I changed the battery and still won't work. Can I open the car with the key manually? will the alarm go off if I open the door? any other ideas? My wallet is locked inside the car and I cant get to it.

generally speaking yes alarm will go off, after door is opened put the key into ignition and start the engine and alarm will stop.

Why would the alarm go off if you use the key to open the door?

I had this same thing happen on mine. I used the key the "old fashioned" way for months until I figured out the issue.

I have a dual battery Cayenne Turbo. One battery (under the rear floor) is used to start the car. The second battery under the drivers seat is used for all the other functions. It died!. So it would not remember the key code. The first battery would start the car fine and it would obviously run off the alternator power. Just would not remember things like which key was programmed to it. Everything was perfect when I put a new battery under the seat.
