IPHONE + VIDEO INPUT on my PCM 2.1 for $90 - OH YEAH !!!! Lots of pics of the install
Hi guys,
I have made a tutorial with photos (sorry it's in french because my usual forum is http://www.forum-cayenne.com/forum/i...deo-t5757.html )
You will see that I have 'stolen' some photos from this site to build it
You can download it here : Attention ! will be deleted 30 days after the last download (after that you can download it on the french cayenne forum / link above)
part 1: http://dl.free.fr/jYCpXaV0W
part 2: http://dl.free.fr/rMxBxJTtc
I'm sorry I can't attach it to this forum due to the attachment limitations.
Question for the guys on this forum who get the input video working :
How do you connect the cables, especially green cable (supposed to be connected to the parking brake ?), no one explains that !
Because I tried all the buttons on the remote, no result...
I tried to wire the green cable to a +12v, etc... not result
I posted pictures in my previous posts to expose the problem...
thank you

So -- did anyone find 12V power in the back? I think I would prefer wireless just for ease of installation.
Find how to auto switch when in reverse?
Got a 08 CTT that I'm hauling a trailer with and a back-up camera would be sweet!

I tapped into the backup light wiring. Switched on when in reverse..
I installed the Nav-TV backup camera system in my 09-GTS and I will tell you it is a complete b*tch to pull them wires through the tailgate assembly.
The (somewhat) easy part is pulling off all the trim, the hard part is fishing it through the upper assembly where the cables are routed into the tailgate. I used the factory camera with the button right on it, there was no way I could route it through the tailgate into the car with the video connector attached, so I ended up cutting the cable and re-splicing it after I got it through the tough parts. Not sure if there was an easier way...but it looks like you did exactly what I did with getting it through.
The Nav-TV system kicks the camera on video when you put it in reverse, and it says on for a couple of seconds when you go into drive which is nice.
If you want to get a reverse-signal, you can just tap off the reverse-lights in the rear. I can actually probably tell you the wire color if you are interested as I tapped it when I was installing my camera (although I didn't need it because the Nav-TV system has it's own trigger).
