Alternative Fluids, Lubricants: Suggestions Please
Approaching 100,000 miles, I figure it might be time to pull some preventative maintenance. In addition, I have heard of one fellow who changed all his SUV's fluids from Porsche OEM to the Royal Purple line. The result reported was a significant reduction in friction and made the SUV perform tremendously different--better.
However, I am very cautious in such matters having lost my LSD on a Supra TWICE due to incorrect lubricants!
My SUV has the Advanced Off-Road Package and driving conditions are harsh, so spending money on fluids seems like good prevention. Still, it is not easy. For one, I hear that the only way to completely change the transmission fluid is to drop the transmission!
I miss being able to get power flushes like I did for my Toyota's and their automatic transmissions.
Anyone with experience please chime it. Thanks in advance!
