Help????
First of all I wanted to say hello I am new to the forums and porsche's in general.
My first question is I am about to buy a 2005 cayenne tomorrow for $17,000 from a family friend.
-51,000 miles
-white
-in perfect condition
-and has a new engine replaced with less than 50 miles on it from the dealer which has a 2 year warranty
Is this a good deal???
Secondly I am 99% sure i am going to buy the car tomorrow unless someone tells me this is the worst deal on earth. SO i was wondering what were some good web sites for accessories, I want new rims for it a rear spoiler, new lights, and new emblems(black if i can get them)
THANKS AGAIN FOR WHOEVER HELPS ME AND I AM GLAD TO BE IN THE PORSCHE FAMILY (im coming from infiniti)

Sounds like an awesome deal. I paid $18,500 for my 04 S with just over 99,000 miles and I thought that was a steal.
I am also curious why the engine was replaced with so little miles and I would also get it checked out first before buying it. A couple hundred bucks is worth some peace of mind in the long run as these babies aren't cheap to work on.

Ya it is the V6 version and the engine was replaced becuase of some rod issues or something(i talked to the dealership in memphis and they said it was a legit new engine) also I go the ppi or pdi test and everything came out great.

It's not the same thing. Hydrolock happens when you drive into the water and the intake gets submerged. Engine damage results from trying to compress water--which isn't compressable.

5 year owner of v6.....strange there was a rod issue but for 17k its probably a deal.
Just remember repairs on engines are not that common on v6s...however valve body can be an issue and you need to be able to budget for good coolant, tires, and synthentic oil chnges.....
Mine has been a great mule for highway miles and a decent mobile office.
any issue that must be resolved by dealer will cost you..... but your entry point is very low and the truck can be dumped easily in that regard.
I can see someone chopping one up for a hunting rig or scout type vehicle at the 8-10k price buy in...
