Lowering Module

I was wondering if there is any concern with the lowering modules at their highest and lowest settings while driving. I was thinking with the bag inflated or deflated that extra bit that you may be more susceptible to damage? Thanks.

It really depends on the module you use. There's many out there and each perform a little differently.

Ours, for example, will not let you drive in "loading mode" because it would eventually cause damage to the bags. It will, however, let you drive in of the 3 height modes at up to 60mm lower then the factory preset.

Other methods, like lowering links for example, "trick" the height sensors and can lower your car a lot, but do not compensate with any dampening adjustments so the ride can be harsh. The "look" of driving that low is pretty awesome though. But eventually, it could harm the bags.

Here's a link to ours. It's compatible with any Cayenne that uses air suspension, whether it's a 955, 957, or 958.

Can the 3 height modes on your module be set individually? For example, can I set it to ride 60mm lower on sport, 40mm lower on normal, and 10mm lower on terrain? And how are the height settings adjusted? Is it some sort of an adjustment **** on the module itself?

Hi Jay...to answer your first question..no. When you set the height, it's set for all 3 modes.

In the control module there are 4 control *****: right front height, left front height, rear (both) height, and an on/off ****. There are 7 height settings available, ranging from 20mm (3/4") up to 60mm (2 1/4").

Do any fault codes show up after installing the lowering module?

I read that some do. Does the champion one have any of these issues?

If it's installed properly, there are no fault codes whatsoever. We've sold and installed literally 100's of these units.

Matt...I'm not sure what else to try in your case. We know the unit functions since we tried it here first. If the wiring is definitely correct, then there just HAS to be something wrong elsewhere in the air suspension system. In those last pictures you sent me, the car looks higher to me, not lower.

I wish I could help more...but remotely diagnosing this kind of issue is just so hard...

hey Tom - off topic but hoping a refresh of this thread gets your attention.

anyway, do you guys have anything for a Panamera that would allow one to further raise the air suspension settings? it would be great if you could somehow get a low speed pop of 4 cm plus - non-metric - 2 inches or so?

Not at the moment, but the idea has been kicked around a few times so you never know. Honestly it seemed like most people felt the Panamera got low enough on it's own, so we didn't really pursue it.

I believe the question is in regard to having the ability to increase ride height for the Panamera, not lower it - guessing to help get over speed bumps and to ascend steep driveways etc. without scraping. Sound like a great idea to me. Apologies if I misinterpreted the question...

oops...I misunderstood your question, sorry. The problem with the Panamera is that the airbags themselves are not designed to offer quite the same range of height changes as the Cayenne. Getting them to raise any higher would require some hardware changes.

my question was to raise - thinking of those times in winter when being able to jack it would get you over snow banks; or even let you ride 2 wheels up to get off the road more when parking.

so no increase at all from your system unless hardware? too bad if that is the case
