Bringing my Cayenne back from the land of the misfits...

Hi everyone, I have found a 2006 CTTS to be my next Cayenne. I've never had a white car before and I'm learning they come with a whole host of new problems than the black vehicles I've owned previously.

My local Porsche dealer brought it in from Houston and it had this horrible yellow "clear" bra on it. When my detailer removed the clear bra from the hood it peeled away clear coat because the original Houston installer cut the paint on install. Awesome. So we solved that by wrapping the hood in white carbon fiber.

I need my winter vehicle because it does snow every once in a while in Colorado so I can't continue these body mods right away, but this is what I am planning. I need some help on the best way to go about it:

Remove yellow bra on bumper. Probably repaint bumper because my detailer has pointed out where the clear coat is most likely damaged below. I want the grill to be black. It is currently silver. Do I get it painted black when the bumper is painted or do I replace it with OEM porsche parts that come in black?

The roof rails are silver. I want them to be black. Do I get them painted or replace with black Porsche factory ones?

The exterior window trim is silver. I want it to be black. Again, paint or replace?

This is my daily driver and it sees every possible weather you can think of. So I need to go the route that holds up the best.

I'm looking forward to your thoughts!

pwjk12 is infamous around these parts
my guess is that the painted trim will hold up for a bit but will likely chip or peal over time...I would go with OEM if price isnt the driving factor.

That is what I was thinking about the trim too. But not so sure about the grill or roof rails. I was going to stop by my paint shop today and get quotes and ideas. Is there a good online source for oem parts like this besides Suncoast?

Cool. I think I am going to get the roof rails powder coated black when I get the wheels done. I agree with paint for the grills and trim after looking at costs of replacing.

you would be amazed at what one can of Krylon Flat Black Camo paint can do and touch ups are cinch and dry even.

Aren't the OEM grilles on the CTTS typically painted body color, as opposed to the black ones on the CTT?

I'm not sure what the original color is for grills. We are pretty sure this CTTS had paintwork on at least the passenger front fender because the overspray is obvious on the front bumper and grill. The previous owner was either blind or had bad taste or both. But it will slowly come together.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I do not like flat black and I think I will look into a wrap for all of the parts mentioned to bring them to a gloss black, which will hold up. Besides the wheels and maybe the roof rails which I can get powder coated. I am waiting for a quote from my detailer before deciding which direction to go.
