to PDCC or not PDCC - that is the question

Guys I am about to close a deal on an 08 Turbo. I am coming out of an 06 CTT-S, so in my opinion basically the same car 2 years newer. PDCC wasnt an option on my pepper, so I guess you could say I don't really know what I am missing. I have heard mixed reviews - some saying that the PDCC is a deal-breaker. Other folks saying it takes away some of the spirited feel of driving around windy roads.

Is there anyone out there has upgraded and now cant live without it? Or is there anyone that can offer an opinion that has had the PDCC and "down-graded" to a non-PDCC Cayenne?

Should I wait for another one to come on the market with PDCC??

Thanks in advance!

I upgraded to PDCC and am very happy I did. I can't imagine that it takes away from the spirited feel unless more lean in corners = more spirited but I just don't see it that way. I love the idea of active roll stabilization no matter the application as IMPO less lean is ALWAYS better. I'd be interested in hearing arguments for more lean in fact...

Jay - thanks for the input. I guess I am just looking for an excuse- if you will to go without. I will say that 95% of the time I drive with my suspension in the comfort mode, and throw it in Sport mode when I am looking for the firmer more of a "on rails" ride. How would you describe the difference with the PDCC in comfort and sports modes?

Thanks -
Colin

Hey Colin - that's one of the advantages of PDCC - it still corners very flat with the suspension set to comfort mode. In fact, I use comfort mode quite a bit as well and the GTS rides amazingly well for how flat it corners - seems to defy physics at times. In sport mode it just makes handling all the better but of course with a slightly stiffer ride. Right now I'm running 18s for winter (Michelin Alpine) and the ride with that much tire is really excellent - noticeably better than with the OEM 21s. That said, I do notice that the handling suffers quite a bit but still, PDCC keeps it flat in corners. With the 21s & PDCC I'm just amazed at how well it handles for such a large, heavy vehicle. I'm looking forward to putting the 21s back on for summer soon...

PDCC is the only way to go - no question. Amazing how little body roll it has for a midsize SUV- it is truly phenomenal. My wife doesn't drive aggressively, however, she appreciates how the vehicle doesn't shift its weight too much when going around a 90 deg. corner.

You will thank us later.
