My new 22" Ruger Mesh Black wheels/Tires are on!!! Slightly murdered out ;)

Anyways the wheels and tires are on! The beast gets a LOT of looks now! Lol

UPDATE: I was pretty upset yesterday about the whole situation, but the manager (Discount Tire), after about 5 minutes of me going off....said he would replace the rim and repair my original one to keep as a spare. I wasn't having the whole we repair the wheel deal.

original post: So I buy some tires from Discount Tire. And I figured they would be competent enough to put some tires (which they do everyday) on my New IN BOX rims..WRONG!! Not without screwing them up first!!

I didn't see the bend and scratch until I washed it about 20 minutes later!!
So yea it does look good IMO and I was happy when I shot this pic:

Which Discount Tire was it? I just bought new tires for my 911, and I almost went to Discount Tire in Lakewood. I ended up going with Big O Tire in Evergreen because they have a Hunter Road Force balancer and apparently they do lots of work on Porsches. The Cayenne needs new summer tires too, and if they do a nice job on the 911, I'll buy the Cayenne's tires at Big O Tire also.

Nice choice on the wheels, btw. What are they - Victor Innsbrucks?

Dennis, it was the Discount Tire on 7401 Wadsworth off of 92nd. I do not recommend them obviously, LOL. I still can't believe they did this and how careless they are with customer's components....amazing. I put in a complaint to the main office already.

Thanks for the compliment. They are Avant Garde Rugers. IMO they look better in person. The pig doesn't look as good in pictures as it does in real life

Jeez Scot, sorry to hear/see that. That really sucks. All that anticipation and that's what they gave you. Obviously the tech saw that and still continued forward and didn't even tell you about it - that's just poor and unacceptable business. If that were my business I'd do everything in my power to correct that situation as quickly as humanly possible (and then some!) and in the meantime at least try to use that as a learning experience to improve the tech who did the work - warning one at least, two strikes and he's out. That's just bad business practice right there. Anyhow - hope it all works out for you and keep us posted. The wheels do look great though! Good luck!

Jay, I'm much better now. The anguish has subsided and they are taking care of the issue.

On another note, I'm loving the look. I've had several compliments at work and tons of stares while driving! Lol

One guy at work said, "I thought that was a whole different cayenne!"

The ride is surprisingly pretty good too! The little bumps that You really felt before are barely felt now with the larger wheels/tires. I just need to get it aligned now. Maybe tomorrow.

Thanks articT! Yours look awesome too! I was afraid the black wheels would be too much, but in person they are more noticeable and the lines amd profile look great I think. Pretty mean looking too.

Personally, I would never bring my high end cars to an America's Tire, Wheel Works, Sears, etc. tire center. These places are not intended to handle the high end larger diameter low profile soft metal expensive stuff. The staff and equipment they have is designed for quick turnaround of "normal" vehicles.

Whenever it comes to anything high end, custom or specialized in which I want that extra confidence that my wheels won't get damaged I'll go to the reputable shops that distribute and install high end wheels (HRE's, Vellano, iForged, etc.) or are known to work on high end cars for custom alignments, wheels and tires.

In addition to having a nice road force balancer, the tire shop should have a good tire changing machine as well. I believe there's an increased chance of wheels getting damaged when the tire is removed from the wheel versus mounted. For DIscount Tire to damage your wheel during a mount only goes to show that they're really not setup or trained to do the nice stuff.
