aux port for phone

I have an 06 ctts, is there an auxiliary port to plug in phone somewhere? Don't see anything around pcm (receiver) glovebox, centerbox, or rear access panel where cd stacker is. Can't believe theres nothing...I even had one in my old ford truck!

Nope. NADA. Porsche made a kit that used an FM modulator to add an aux-port. Sucky solution.

I'd suggest searching on Dension GW500 and BTA1500. Might as well go for BlueToof if you want to have a real phone connection (and it will stream music files..)

Check under you glove box. It is under a little ways but there should be a 12volt port.

thanks, but the port I am looking for is similar to what is seen on a phone or ipod when hooking up headphones or external speakers. I think the one you are referring to looks like a cig lighter. Ideally there would a plug right on the receiver so I could simply plug my droid right into the receiver and stream music.

Sorry, but you're out of luck. You need one of the expensive options mentioned above.

I have a aux only kit as long as you have the Bose system. You will need to use a switch to engage it but it is just a audio input to MOST fiber.

Ok stupid question but I thought full upgrade kit (such as Dension) is required to to hook up through aux. I heard any other route will cause your ears to bleed. Is there a "good and cheap" solution? I couldn't justify spending a half grand on a unit alone (include an installation and you are talking 4digit) so I opt out for ... ready? FM Radio.

I thought about FM transmitter but I heard that thing is next to a junk. Care to elaborate ReillyS?

Sure..I am happy to. The issue is that Porsche did not build any inputs to the source. That is why the mobridge or dension units require that you replace the changer. The way the MOST ring is set up is the signal is all sent to the amp which is what actually controls the audio level. So for a simple 3.5mm we use the navtv MOSTAUX which ties in thru the most ring for a l/r audio signal. You simply flip a discreet switch and it blocks any audio and introduces your audio then you simply use the radio volume control. I sell this solution installed for $500 installed

We have had pretty good success with the peripheral IS77 as a cheap fix for a cheap aux in thru hardwired FM modulator. For cheap iPod I like the Dice duo universal it's a hardwired fm mod too. Not the best but a solid cheap solution

Quite cheap compared to typical "Dension" solutions. Thanks for sharing information. I was hoping for even "cheaper" solution but I guess it's inevitable since there are no input sources built-in to the system. One way or the other, you have to do it the hard way as it seems. Do you happen to have a website? PM me. I don't think you can advertise without paying for sponsorship.

Dunno how "cheap" it is.. I paid less then $500 for the GW500+BTA1500 combo. If I hadn't wanted to retain my CD changer (foolish thing to do, I've never used it since) - an install in the rear of the truck would have taken about 15 minutes to get going, and then another half-hour to run the cables up to the console.

This setup gives BlueTooth, streaming iPod, streaming USB, streaming BlueTooth audio, plus an auxiliary input.. and it's fully integrated with the PCM.

The navtv MOSTAUX seems rather primative compared to the Dension solution. (And I don't sell, nor have any interest whatsoever with either company..)
