Who has put a Cayenne on the dyno?
Who has put a Cayenne on the dyno?
I am scheduled to get my cayenne up on a dyno on wednesday (the 13th) and I need some expertise/experience on this. Last time I tried this we were not able to get readings as the car continued to self adjust the air suspension and loosened the securing straps, so instead of having the car run away on us we decided to cut our loses and call it quits. Is there some way to enter a dyno mode, I know that some mercedes have this feature, or maybe pull some fuses or something...? Help!

If you want, I can check my 957 manuals to see where exactly the air suspension compressor is located. I know the tank is in the rear, next to the spare.
Perhaps a dumb question, but did you try just disabling the air ride by pushing/holding the toggle up? You can disable it for raising the truck (changing tires, working under it), without having to pull fuses, etc.
Doesn't this automatically re-activate once you hit a certain speed?

Oh, does it? I know if you lower the vehicle to "loading level" it auto rises, but didn't know about he auto re-enable.
Glad I prefaced my response with "dumb question".

This is mine in the dyno. (BTW, some dork stole this photo and is using it on eBay to sell software, I have tried all sorts of things to get him to stop using it, do use your own judgement buying Tuning software with this photo)
I don't understand the issue you are having. If the dyno is level the Cayenne shouldn't be trying to level itself.
The Cayenne will drop down through the settings as speed increases. So if you are starting at the middle ride height it would lower (and loosen the straps). If you start out at the lowest setting, it can only go up, (tightening the straps).
The lowest drivable height is essentially the loading level which it enters at 130mph. So start in the normal "low" setting and keep it under 130mph and it should stay nice and tight. If you start in the loading level it will try to raise back up until you get to 130mph.

Cole ^^^ where did you dyno at? Looks like a 4 wheel Dynojet. Thanks! I was going to dyno mine with PSM off, in manual mode in 4th gear. What gear did you dyno in? 4th gear should be pretty close to 1:1. Oh and what were your hp/tq numbers?
This ^^^yes if you are strapped to the lower control arms, then it shouldn't matter.
Yes, it was indeed an awd dyno. I had the air suspension locked in the highest setting. I think it was in 4th, maybe it reached 130(?!) I'm not sure. Going to give it another try for sure.
