I am pretty sure the motor will breath a lot better with bypass pipes then with cats. Are you sure this guy was smart enough to change your oil?

I wouldn't be that sure. Low restriction catalytic converters are about standard on any modern car and don't present a noticeable restriction to engine breathing. The old plugged up ones went out with fuel economy standards going up.. a restrictive cat-converter will cost MPG, and that's something the car companies pay a lot of money to maximize.

Bypass pipes = noise (which makes the truck seem faster/more-powerful) unless you're running a turbo and have done a tune to optimize the mixture without the cat-converter.

Tech opinion

I had my GT-S in to the stealer for an oil change recently and the tech (who is the only one there that I let work on either of my P cars cuz he has been there forever and is a "car guy") was complimentary of the bypass pipes and opined that the GT-S now sounded and drove like it should have originally. I don't know about any true gains but the fun factor for me has gone through the roof with the bypass.

I've heard this theory over and over. Yet when I installed a high flow car on my 951 it totally killed the car. Felt like someone had neutered it!

Yes, he's a retard.

Keep in mind that the Cayenne has 4 sets of catalytic converters (well kind of).
You see, the second set aren't real cats, they are noise baffles. I know this for a fact because we cut them open once, and a professional muffler guy looked at the insides.

So, see, you are smarter than the guy at the dealership (which isn't that hard these days). Personally, I don't know where they find these guys, but you would think that with such an expensive product they would get at least a fundamental understanding of the vehicles, but in fact they don't. You can learn far more by participating in these forums.
