Please help....getting frustrated!!
we have a 2006 cayenne S and lately it's been running pretty poor...the engine light will come on and stay on for a few days and then disappear so I decided to take it to the dealer to get checked out. They had the vehicle for 2 days and after checking it out they came back to say that nothing was wrong...??? OK.....!! About 2 weeks later the light came on again but stayed on this time so again went back to the dealer to get checked out.....this time they came back to say I needed to replace the coils and plugs because there were miss-fire codes. I took the car home and put all new coils, plugs and air filters in and it seemed to run allot better. So yesterday my wife calls and said that the engine light is back on, and she explained that when she presses on the gas pedal she hear's a "pop" so I met up with her and experienced the same....the pop is coming from the intake and is like a delay before it starts to accelerate. I don't know if I should try the dealer again or what.......so wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction as to what is going on??? Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated. We have moved down to Florida from Canada and took the vehicle to the dealer in Sarasota.

I had an issue that was throwing a misfire, however, it was the MAF that was misreading the air and creating havoc for the other sensors (after replacing plugs and cleaning the MAF sensor). Apparently, this happens in the 997's too, so the test is to unplug the MAF sensor and see if the problems go away.
Yes, you can unplug the MAF sensor completely and drive the car fine - I did for about a week before I replaced the suspect MAF sensors.
The MAF sensors for the DFI 4.8 were about $700 a piece I believe - and I needed two of them. :X

I tried unplugging the MAF sensors and it ran horrible, engine stalled out a few times so I plugged them back in. Any other suggestions before I take it back to the dealer for a 3rd time.....
