Tune decision

European Performance Labs or Softronic for my 05 turbo. That is the question.

I have a 2004 CTT that was tuned by EPL. I'm very happy with the power increase and drivability. Their tune added an average hp increase of 25 and 27 ft lbs torque on top of the prior "off the shelf" tune I already had. Overall the truck is faster and MUCH smoother than it was with the other tune.

What did your off the shelf tune get you? I am looking at doing this next week. I have heard good things about both so am in a bit of a quandary. I want to be able to flash it from home as I don't live anywhere near a shop that can do the tune and up here in Canada they cost about $1000 more as well.

I don't know exactly what the gains were with the original tune as it wasn't dyno'd before. That tune was done by a company called upsolute which doesn't seem to be very popular anymore nor would I recommend.

I did look at upsolute, however communication was poor and I could not get my questions answered.

Check out GIAC. I'm considering that in the next couple of weeks.

I'm not clear. Did EPL dyno tune your CTT (i.e., do the tune while your CTT was strapped to a 4WD dyno), or did their software replace the existing software? If it's the latter, how is that not just another "off-the-shelf" tune?

EPL dyno tuned the truck. [IMG][/IMG]

Awesome. Easily explains the added value over a generic tune.

I pulled the trigger on EPL. Will let everyone know how it goes, from installation to butt dyno.

EPL is great. I have had my EPL tune for about 2 years. Extremely happy. I have the EPL off the shelf tune. I also have cat delete. I did have to install new bov's to hold the boost. My boost is pinned at 1 ... but I think Tony mentioned is was actually 1.1 or 1.2.

I had problems with Softronic Tune on my CTT - Hesitation. Running on my stock map now and fighting to get my money back.

Just had EPL tune my CTT, there OTS tune got me 370 awhp and then the dyno tune got 399 awhp thats on a mustang dyno could have got about 50 more but Tony and talked about how my meth set up didn't have a fail safe and I didn't want to mess something up so we just did water injection.
