Leveling air suspension

Hi, new guy here. I just got a 2004 with air suspension from a used car dealer. While they had it they put new tires on and did other things requiring jacking it up. It now sits with the tail higher than the font. Is there a way I can re set the level or do I need to have it hooked to a computer to do it?

Do you use an airbag system? I wouldn't mess with it cos many things can be negatively affected. have you checked the pressure of the tires?

It has the factory air system, tire pressure is not the problem, the rear air springs are lifted one or 2 settings higher than the front.

Check this thread on lowering air suspension using Durametric https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...etric-diy.html. The function used here is basically exactly what you need to do, except you will use the correct values and not the modified values used to lower the suspension.

Thanks DLF, my nephew has a VAGcom program for his laptop and he thinks he can reset it with that, sounds simular to the Durametric. By the way I stopped at a Porsche dealer and asked them about it and they think it should level put on its own so I should bring it in and leave it for a day to be checked out. Hmm, I think we will try the diy option first.

I don't think VAG COM is going to work on the Cayenne, you will need Durametric or PIWIS. Anyway, give it a try and let us know if it does work.

Ok, thanks. Is it common for the suspension to get mis aligned if the mechanic doesn't turn off the air suspension first? Or could it be something else. I'm sure it was level before they worked on it.

It sounds like I'm going to need to take it to a Porsche dealer for repair. Has anyone in here used either Porsche in Danbury Ct. Or Porsche in Clifton Park NY? Those are my closest options. Thanks

Try adjusting the level using the controls in the center console (ride height/etc) to see if that forces it to reach 'level' state. Otherwise, pickup a durametric as it will pay itself in the long run and adjust the height yourself if it's way off.

The first time I jacked up my front end when I was swapping out my tires the front sat very high, but after I ran through several levelling excercises everything was fine. I jacked up the front end without disabling the air suspension (first timer mistake).
