Cayenne 955 heating question

Hi guys
Had my coolant reservoir replaced by the dealer last week and since then I have been noticing that it gets hotter than it did before.

Very rarely would my temp go beyond the center mark (80) and today with slow driving in the hills, it went almost to the 3/4 point, just a bit less than 100.

It comes back down but I'm a bit worried because it never has gone up that high before.

Any suggestions or advice. I've been reading some threads where people say it's normal.

Is the expansion tank filled properly? You could have saved a bunch of money doing it yourself. Mine split in two, bought a new part, put it on in about 45 minutes.

Temperature between 80 and 100 is considering as normal according to driver's manual. I'm sure it used to be like that on your Cayenne before coolant tank replacement, you just did not pay attention. My advice - to keep a/c running in auto mode - it optimizes operation of coolant system as well.

If it's getting excessively hot it could be they either didn't fill the system back up enough or there could be air trapped in it somewhere.

Don't use the instrument cluster gauge, their for reference, not accuracy.

Use an OBDII reader that has that function to read the temp. Either a Durametric or other scanning device.

Supposedly its normal to run up to 235F. My cayenne hovers around 199-225F depending on road conditions.

I use this to monitor my coolant temperature. You can also set alarms so if the temp goes above or below your set value it will notify you.

I also use it to monitor my live MPG, average MPG, when to change oil, voltage etc.

thanks all... found all this happens only when i don't run the AC

with the AC on, the meter stays put at the center.
